Beaches around Hua hin
Hua Hin Beach
The beach at Hua Hin stretches from the middle of town to the rocky promontory at Khao
Takiap. Although there are large rock formations in the water, particularly near the
Sofitel, the sea bed is sandy rather than rocky. The strip of sand at Hua Hin is fairly
narrow, but there always seems to be space on the sand to spread a towel. Beach umbrellas
and deckchairs slung with canvas are available for rent and there are numerous
opportunities for activities like jet-sking, para-sailing, horseback riding and riding a
banana boat.
To the south of Khao Takiap is Takiap Bay, a 5km strip of sand that includes the beaches
of Hat Takiap, Suan Son and Khao Tao. These beaches are more isolated and are fronted by
numerous hotels and resorts. Hat Takiap is the most popular of the three and is easily
reached by songthaew from the centre of Hua Hin. It is also the site of a small fleet of
fishing boats and a collection of excellent seafood restaurants that offer a choice
seafood at a fraction of what it would probably cost you back home.
Takiab Bay
Nice and relaxing Hua Hin beach just 7 km / 4 miles south of the center of Hua Hin on
the Gulf of Thailand Coast, from Hua Hin go past the Marriott and Hyatt Regency resorts,
beyond Khao Takiab Temple and View point, this beach is around the headland in Takiab Bay
and you would miss it if you didn't know about it. In addition to nice beach with clear
water there are Elephant Rides, Jet Ski, boats to offshore island, long beac, nice
restaurants. Also in the area Off Road all terrain buggy riding, cycling, lots of temples,
very nice area. Although Hua hin town is very pleasant many find it more built up than
expected and perhaps do not venture away from the center, but Khao Takiab is just 10
minutes from the center of Hua Hin and provides so much more for those seeking a relaxing
beach and well priced accommodation, Weekend and vacation houses are many together with a
couple of hotels, the Anantasila Resort, Bluewave Hotel, Takiab resort, Seahorse, the new
Napalai Hua Hin and other hotels, boutique guesthouses and also budget bungalows and
cabins.
Suan Son Pradiphat Beach
Just 8 kms away in the South of town, you can view pine tree
gardens beside the beach. The beach though is not the same in Khao Takiab but it's wider
and very clean. The beach itself is run by Army Welfare Office with pretty gardens and a
beach open to the public. You can find cheaper bungalows and small hotels that makes the
place more comfy. the beach can get too crowded yet it's peaceful and shady place to stay
around... You can find many foods in the entrance. they have small shops for farangs,too.
Hat Sai Noi beach
On your way to Pranburi from the Khao Tao Temple. Its not crowded
at all, and there are even cold drinks available. Also, there are noticeably less rocks in
the ocean compared to Hua Hin beach, which made for better swimming. Bottom-line: If
you're in the area, this is a nice little beach to chill at.Hat Sai Noi Beach a small sandy beach from the beach you can see two small islands, Ko Singto (lion island and Ko Tao (turtle island) Hat Sai Noi Beach is located within walking distance to our project Manora Village. Sai Noi beach is a charming little bay hemmed in by two large rocky headlands. The beach is no more than a few hundred metres long
Khao Tao
Not to be confused with the island Koh Tao, Khao Tao is a small
village around 15km south of Khao Takiab.
The biggest attraction here is the delightful little bay and beach at
Hat Sai Noi and the large Khao Tao temple complex.
To get there turn left off the highway at the sign for Khao Tao, over
the railway and turn right before the lake, follow it round and keep to the left at the
fork (otherwise you'll end up in the army camp).
There is a small sheltered bay at Haad Sai Noi with two or three restaurants serving good
food, plenty of seating but does get busy at weekends. Swimming is good as it gets deep
quick however jellyfish have been spotted here.
Cha-am beach
The atmosphere at Cha-am is different from Hua Hin. The beach is fronted by a long row
of casuarina trees and its is more spread out. It is in fact the longest stretch of sand
in all of Thailand. In addition, it is closer to Bangkok, making it popular with Thais who
motor in from the Big Mango for a day at the beach or a couple of days in the condo they
have purchased in one of high-rises fronting the beach.
The Thais love to snack while they play in the water and the beach is chocablok with
vendors selling everything from cotton candy to grilled horseshoe crabs. There are also
numerous opportunities for watersports, including the inevitable jet-skies, para-sailing
and banana boats. There is an abundance of deckchairs and umbrellas for rent and numerous
bathhouses where you can use the toilet or wash the sand off with fresh water.
Cha-am is not only the home of several large resorts, it is also has numerous small and
reasonably priced guesthouses only a few metres from the strand. There is a lot to eat
here, but you'll find much less 'foreign' food that in neighbouring Hua Hin. One thing to
remember about Cha-am is that it relatively quite on weekdays, crowded on weekends and
really packed on public holidays.
Pranburi beach
Although it has a long history, Pranburi is just coming into its own as a tourist
attraction. Located 30km to the south of Hua Hin it is quieter, more relaxed and less
developed than the better known resorts to the north. It is precisely these qualities that
give Pranburi its appeal and it has grown in popularity over the past few years with those
who want a little peace and tranquillity while they laze in the sun.
The beach is fronted by a small road that extends south from estuary of the Pranburi river
to Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. Today Pranburi is the home to a growing number of
small, but attractive boutique resorts. For those who want to spend time in Hua Hin,
several of the Pranburi resorts offer their own transport. |
Hua Hin strand
Het strand bij Hua Hin strekt zich uit vanaf het midden van de stad tot aan het rotsige Khao
Takiap. Ondaks het feit dat er groote rotsformaties in het water liggen,
is de strand grondlaag dicht naast het Sofitel, meer zanderig dan rotsachtig.
De zandstrook nabij Hua Hin is redelijk small, maar er is altijd meer dan genoeg plaats
op het strand om een handdoek neer te leggen. strand parasols
en ligstoelen bekleed met canvas zijn beschikbaar om te huren en er zijn meer dan genoeg mogelijkheden
voor andere aktiviteiten zoals jet-sking, para-sailing, paardrijden en bananenboot berijden.
Ten zuiden van Khao Takiap ligt Takiap Bay, een 5km lange zandstrook waaronderder de stranden
Hat Takiap, Suan Son en Khao Tao. Deze stranden zijn meer geisoleerd en gesitueerd aan diverse hotels en resorts.
Hat Takiap is het most populaire strand van de drie en is makkelijk bereikbaar met een songthaew vanaf het centrum van Hua Hin.
ook is dit de ligplaats van een aantal vissers boten en een aantal geweldige vis restaurants.
De kosten van het eten bij deze restaurants zijn over het algemeen een fractie van wat u zou betalen in uw eigen land.
Takiab Bay
Heerlijk en rustgevend Hua Hin strand ongeveer 7 km / 4 miles ten zuiden van het centrum van Hua Hin,
vanf Hua Hin ga langs de Marriott en Hyatt Regency resorts,
na Khao Takiab Tempel en uitzichtpunt. Buitn het feit dat het een heerlijk starnd is met helder water, kan men er ook olifant rijden,
Jet Ski varen. ook gaan er boten naar eilanden buiten de kust, er bevinden zich heerlijke restaurants in deze omgeving.
ook kan men er buggy racen, fietsen, en veel tempels bezichtigen.
Khao Takiab is maar 10 minuten van het centrum van Hua Hin en heeft zoveel meer te bieden voor mesnen die op zoek zijn naar een rustig
strand en goed geprijsde accommodaties, weekend en vakantiehuizen en hotels zijn er genoeg,
het Anantasila Resort, Bluewave Hotel, Takiab resort, Seahorse, het nieuwe Napalai Hua Hin en andere hotels,
boutique guesthouses en ook budget bungalows en hutjes.
Suan Son Pradiphat strand
Ongeveer 8 kms ten zuiden van de stad, bevind u zich tussen de pijnbomen naast het strand.
Het strand is niet hetzelfde als in Khao Takiab maar veel breder en erg schoon.
Het strand zelf wordt beheerd door de "Army Welfare Office" met mooie tuinen en een strand open voor publiek.
U vind hier goedkopere bungalows en kleine hotels wat het verblijf hier iets gewoner maakt.
soms kan het druk zijn maar er is altijd wel een rustig schaduwrijk plekje te vinden.
Er kan eten gekocht worden bij de ingang. ook zijn er kleine winkels voor buitenlanders.
Hat Sai Noi strand
Hat Sai Noi strand ligt onderweg van Pranburi nabij de Khao Tao Temple. Een erg rustig strand,
waar toch ook gekoelde dranken gekocht kunnen worden. ook liggen er aanzienlijk minder stenen in de oceaan vergeleken
met het Hua Hin strand, hierdoor kan men er veel makkelijker zwemmen.
Dus als u toch in de buurt bent dan is dit een prachtig klein strand om tot rust te komen.
Hat Sai Noi strand is een smal zanderig strand waar u uitkijkt op twee kleine eilandjes,
Ko Singto (leeuw eiland en Ko Tao (schildpad eiland)
Hat Sai Noi strand is gesitueerd op loopafstand van Manora Village resort.
Het strand is niet meer dan een paar honderd meter lang.
Khao Tao
Niet te verwarren met het eiland Koh Tao,
Khao Tao is een klein dorpje op ongeveer 15 km ten zuiden van Khao Takiab.
De grootste attractie hier is de kleine baai en strand Hat Sai Noi en het groote Khao Tao tempel complex.
Om er te komen draait u linksaf van de snelweg bij het bord Khao Tao,
over de spoorbaan en draai naar rechts voor het meer,
volg dit meer rondom en houd links aan bij de splitsing (ander komt u in de leger basis terecht).
Er is hier een kleine beschutte baaimet twee of drie restaurants die lekker eten serveren,
genoeg stoelen maar het kan in het weekend druk zijn. Je kan er goed zwemmen maar het wordt er snel diep.
Ook zijn er kwallen gesignaleerd.
Cha-am strand
De atmosfeer in Cha-am is anders dan in Hua Hin. Langs het strand staan casuarina bomen
en hetgebied is meer uitgespreid. Het is de grootste zandstrook van Thailand.
Ook vanwege het feit dat het dicht bij Bangkok ligt, is het strand erg populair bij de Thaise bevolking van Bangkok. De Thai komen per Motor vanaf de hoofdstad
voor een dag op het strand of meeerdere dagen in een condo.
De Thai houd van eten in combinatie met spelen in het water en het strand.
Verkopers verkopen alles van katoen, snoep tot gegrild crabs. Er zijn ook veel watersport mogelijkheden,
zoals jet-skies, para-sailing en bananen boten. U vind er veel ligstoelen en parasols om te huren
ook vind u er enkele badhuizen waar u een sanitaire stop kunt maken of waar u met schoon water het zand van uw lichaam kunt spoelen.
Cha-am is niet alleen de plek voor verschillende groote resorts, er zijn ook verschillende
kleine en goed geprijsde guesthouses op een paar meter vanaf het strand strand. U kunt er veel eten kopen bij de verschillende lokale stalletjes
, het aanbod van eten is echter meer op de thai gericht dan op de westerse keuken, dit in tegenstelling tot Hua Hin.
Een laatste punt van aandacht is dat het er in het weekend druk kan zijn maar door de weeks kan het erg rustig zijn, en erg vol tijden Thaise vakanties.
Pranburi Strand
Pranburi is nog niet zoland bekend als toeristische strand vakantie.
Pranburi ligt ongeveer 30km ten zuiden van Hua Hin en is veel rustiger, en minder ontwikkeld
dan de beter bekende resorts ten noorden. Juist deze rust en achter gevbleven ontwikkeling maken van Pranburi een ideale strand vakantie.
Langs het strand ligt een kleine weg die loopt van het zuiden van de riviermond van de Pranburi rivier
tot Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. Voor mensen die graag naar Hua hin willen gaan maar niet in de drukte willen wonen is Pranburi een goede thuis haven. |
